meet the team

The Green Hub Project is a collaborative initiative between North East Network (NEN) and Dusty Foot Productions (DFP) and is managed by the NEN – DFP Team.

North East Network (NEN): A women’s rights organisation established in 1995, NEN works in the north eastern

region of India (NER) with offices in Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland, and headquarters in Guwahati, Assam. NEN’s

strategies include networking, alliance building, training and capacity building, advocacy, research and

documentation in partnership with other organisations. The lives of people in the northeast being deeply entwined

with their environment, NEN extended its work to include conservation and preservation of traditional practices.

This was initiated in partnership with Dusty Foot Productions.

Dusty Foot Productions (DFP): A film and communication resource agency, DFP works pan India, with special focus

on video documentation and educational projects related to wildlife, environment and people’s biodiversity. DFP has

been video documenting for a number of projects in the NER since 2002. In the last 12 years DFP has produced several

award winning films.

NEN and DFP partnership began in 2008 with a community based conservation education program in Nagaland, ‘Under the Canopy’ as an outreach extension of the film ‘The Wild Meat Trail’ by DFP. Now the program has spread to three more villages of Nagaland in collaboration with other groups. Though small scale, the program has opened up new dimensions for the youth of the villages of Nagalandin the form of research and photography as new avenues of growth.

The Green Hub NEN-DFP collaboration is an effort to further the cause of conservation in the Northeast region.
