xecutive Director and fEminent personalities from the field of natural resource conservation are associated with the Green Hub as key advisors to the Project.

Nandita Hazarika is a natural resources management and energy-environment consultant based in Guwahati. She is associated with EcoSystems India, a trust for biodiversity and environment conservation in Assam as its founder-member. She manages the Assam Haathi Project on human-elephant conflict mitigation and, in collaboration with Chester Zoo, UK,Nandita is also engaged in conservation programmes for some highly endangered species such as the pygmy hog and the greater adjutant. Her work experience of over two decades has focused on research on energy and environment issues, and community based initiatives related to wildlife conservation, ecotourism, renewable energy, alternative livelihoods and environment education. In the past she has worked with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and WWF-India on rural energy and environmental issues. Nandita has a Masters in Geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University. She was a Hubert Humphrey Fellow (2001-2002) under the Fulbright Programme at University of Washington, Seattle.

 

Sanjay Sondhi, an engineering graduate from IIT, Kanpur (1987), is a naturalist with an interest in writing and photography. Having spent twenty successful years in the corporate world (in his last assignment, Sanjay was the Managing Director of Honey Well Turbo India Pvt. Ltd. in Pune), in 2008, Sanjay decided to devote himself to nature conservation and environmental protection. His nature history interests include birds, butterflies, amphibians, reptiles – anything that moves really! Sanjay is involved in numerous conservation projects in eastern and western Himalayas. He also writes nature columns for Hindustan Times and New Indian Express and has co-authored Birds of Pune, Butterflies of the Garo Hills and Butterflies and Moths of Pakke Tiger Reserve’.
